Sprache als Mittel der Migration Jan 25 – Feb 25
This editorial piece shows the results of a joint work between European Alternatives and the Bildungszentrum Lohana Berkins, regarding education and language as a central part of the migration process.

Design Goals

The visual concept of the handbook was based on the idea that language and education are essential bridges for the exchange of ideas, culture, and experiences. To reflect this, the design needed to be accessible and inclusive — not only for institutions, but also for activists and migrants who were part of the project’s broader audience.

Design Decisions

The use of blocks and lines connectic words represent how language fragments and reconnects across different contexts. Rounded sans-serif and serif combinations create a balance between approachability and structure. Color is used sparingly, with soft tones that emphasize openness and accessibility. The layout adapts to multiple languages, and avoids fixed hierarchies to reflect the layered nature of multilingual experience.
